How many people will an 8 gallon keg of beer serve?!
I'm trying to figure out how much beer to get for my wedding!. I was thinking of getting two 8 gallon kegs, one of Budlight and one of Fat Tire, but need to know how many people that might serve!. Any help!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
1 gal = 128 oz
Let say you use a 10 oz cup, that's about 12 cups per gal
12 x 16 =192 servings (roughly)
2 drinks per person depending, your looking about 96 people!.
A rule of thumb is to always get more than you'll think you'll need!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It appears that all the formulas above come from non-keggers!.
An "8" gallon keg is in reality 7!.75 gallons!. A "16" gallon keg
is only 15!.5 gallons
You will get plenty with your 2 "Quarter Barrels" as they are referred to on the circuit!.
You will lose some when tapping!. Then you need to figure in the foam factor!.
A twelve ounce plastic cup will not be 12 ounces of actual beer do to the head!.
Use no larger than 12 ounce plastic cups or you will find 1/2 cups wasted all over!.
Do not use pitchers, the guests will drink faster and there will also be pitchers laying around unfinished!.
Get a volunteer to serve your beer if you want it to go further!.
Eat early and less beer will be consumed!. Beer is not so appetizing on a full stomach!.

Depends on your guests, Ozzysmom apparently only has 2 drink friends!.
I figure at least a pitcher of beer per guest, especially if its open bar, and they'll probably drink even more!.
A pitcher of beer is half a gallon, so that is 16 pitchers of beer!. A pitcher is roughly 4 pints!. So if all your guests are drinkers, then you might serve 8 folks with 1 keg, if they're all light drinkers, you might serve a lot more!. I would aim for worst bet ever, so 6-8 folks per 8gallon keg!. Better to aim for more than for less!. Two kegs would serve 12-16 folks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How many people will attend the wedding!?
While most here are right!. If you have an open bar, drinkers will have more than 2 each!. But, some will not have any at all!. So do you have a drinking crowd or a group of Baptists!?
I'd figure 12 -16 oz cups!. 10oz is a little small!. At 12oz!. that 170 servings and at 16oz its 128 servings!.
Remember nothing will put a damper on your future anniversaries like knowing Uncle Joe killed Aunt Mary and your two cousins and a car load of innocent people in and accident because he got sh*t faced at your wedding!.
Don't be afraid to run out!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have no idea since my experience shows that people tend to NOT drink beer when it's free!. However, those same people will PAY for beer when it's not free b/c they are too cheap to buy booze!. Instead, they'll try to scrub as much free booze off you as they can!. Don't let 'em!Www@FoodAQ@Com
