Easy!.!.!.Westvleteren Abt 12!. The most wonderful experience I've ever had while consuming a beer!. Any description I may give will fall short of this beer's greatness!. Perfection in a glass!. Balanced in ways I never considered possible!.
I too love Chimay!.!.!. but even as another Trappist beer it is dirty dish water next to Westvleteren!.

I'm with you on that!.!.!. and by the way folks!.!.!. Blue Moon is a Coors subsidiary, and Moosehead and Molson are garbage!.
Chimay is a great, widely available Trappist Ale, try seeking out Trappistes Rochefort (varietals 6, 8, and 10) if you enjoy Trappist style Ales!. I agree they are some of the finest Ales in the world!.
Don't slight the American craft brewers though, some of the best beer in the world comes from American micro/craft breweries!.
Try some of the more widely available ones (it also depends on where you are located) to get started!.!.!. Stone (California) makes some fantastic brews, Troegs (Pennsylvania) is outstanding as well (Doubt you will be able to get it now but try to find Nugget Nectar that is my personal favorite beer), Victory Brewing Co!. (Pennsylvania), Rogue (Oregon), Allagash (Maine), and for Trappist style Ales that are not actually imported look for Brewery Ommegang (New York), they are truly the one American brewery that produces Trappist style Ales just as well as the Trappist Monks and are usually cheaper because there is no need for importing costs!.!.!.
Long story short my personal favorite beer to date has been Troegs Nugget Nectar, because of its immense hop flavor, yet delightful drinkability, and nicely balanced finish!.!.!.

I do love my belgiums, and Delirium Tremens and Nocturnum hold very special places in my heart and belly!. But my favorites I always go back to have to be either a good German Dopplebock like Celibrator or Bajuvator, or a good German Oktoberfest/Marzen from someone like Becks, Spaten, or Paulaner!.
New Belgium out of Colorado made a beer called Beire de Mars that blew me away, and I am greatly sad that they quit making it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
