Question: For those who have sampled many champagnes, which one do you think is the best!?
Dom Pérignon, Krug, Veuve Clicquot, Cristal, Cattier, or other!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It really is a matter of personal preference!. Some of the deciding factors, are taste, whether it is dry or sweet, and if you even like champagne!.

With budget not being of particular importance, my favorites are as follows:

1996 Cristal $330/ bottle ( I love this Champagne, the nose is floral and buttery, the taste is long and sweet with slight caramel, the finish is slightly sweet very smooth and lasts)
Palest salmon pink and gold!. This wine has an incredibly complex bouquet!. It is really really good smelling with red berries, cherry, citrus, licorice root and delightful smoky overtones!. On the palate layer after layer of intense mouthfilling red fruit flavour with delicate foaming pleasure bubbles that dance from the front of the tongue to the back of the throat!. Noticable fresh long term acidity and a finish that goes on and on!. I don’t often get too excited by champagne but this had me raving like a looney!. If you can drink something like this once a year then do it!

Laurent Perrier Rose NV Brut
Aroma:
Precise and very crisp with a lasting impression of freshness, it has hints of soft red fruits, such as strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and black cherries!.
Taste:
Intensely fruity flavours begin clean and well-defined upon entry, the wine then opens up to provide a melange of flavours consisting of fresh strawberries, raspberries and wild cherries!. It has great length and is rounded and supple on the finish!.

1996 Veuve Clicquot La Grand Dame
A wonderful special occasion champagne $170-$200
Initially the nose is rich and intense, evoking fresh fruit (apricots, vine peaches, citrus fruits) and dried fruits (hazelnuts, marzipan)!. After aeration, the nose opens up to reveal lightly toasted and mineral notes as well as aromas of mild spices and brioche!.On the palate the aromat iccomplexity of this champagne dominates!.The balance between the strength of Pinot Noir and the elegance of Chardonnay grapes has rarely achieved such perfect harmony!.The wine is round and generous on the palate, with a delicate and silky texture and a dynamic, sparkling final edge-very typical of the 1996 vintage!. The finish is quite remarkable, seemingly never-ending!. This is a wine which constantly evolves once it is opened, revealing a gracious, pure structure, and a promise that it will mature magnificently over time!.

I've had this wine about 5 times now, and gets better every time!
Veuve Clicquot NV Brut (this is my favorite everyday champagne $35-$40/ bottle
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label is a perfect example of harmony between delicacy and power!. Dominated by Pinot Noir, this wine has a firm structure, rounded with a touch of Pinot Meunier!. Nearly a third of Chardonnay gives it the elegance and finesse needed for perfect balance!. A blend of fifty crus, mainly Grands and Premiers Crus!. Consistent quality due to 25 to 35% of reserve wines!. Brut Yellow Label has an intense, pleasant fragrance, with fruit and brioche notes!. Well-balanced and pleasantly fresh to taste, with a remarkable fruity structure!. Yellow Label is the epitome of the Veuve Clicquot style!. Brut Yellow Label is the perfect apertif, and a welcome accompaniment for meal of seafood or fish!.

Hope this helps!.!.!.

"Salon" by far is the best Chamapne in the world!.
Small production and made in the old tradition!.
It's actually very distiquishable!.
For instance if you lined up all the above mentioned
you would have a hard time telling the diff( with many)!.
With Salon, you would know right away!.
( It's that good)!.

Now for the money
Veuve Cliquot taste very similar to Don Perignon!.

But if money isn't a prob!.
