A New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc!. Its got nice vegital and herbal tones and is great with the asparagus!. Throw some fresh thyme and lemon in with the chicken and it will be perfect!.
For the chocolate cake, try an nice after dinner brandy!. for something less strong, go with Baileys on ice!. Its like adult milk and cookies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chardonnay would be fine!. Try to find an oaked style with some body to it (ask the wine shop guy for a recommendation)!.
Even better maybe, would be a nice CA Pinot Noir!. If the chicken has tradiontional poultry herbs like rosemary and thyme, the Pinot will pair very well and the mushrooms have and earthy flavor that also compliments the Pinot's flavors!. also, the Pinot will pair OK (not great) with the chocolate dessert if you wish to serve only one wine!. The Chardonnay will not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A nice crisp, super cold white wine, like a pinot grigio or if you prefer a bit more sweet, you can go with a Riesling!. Good luck ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com
