Answers:
There is a formula as follows:

One unit of alcohol is one shot (25ml) of a 40% spirit!.

To work out the number of units in a glass or bottle of ANY alcoholic drink:
Multiply the volume in mls by the %ABV and then divide that answer by 1000!.

Examples
25ml (shot) of 40% vodka = (25 x 40)/1000 = 1 unit
250ml glass of 12% wine = (250 x 12)/1000 = 3 units
500ml glass of 5% beer = (500 x 5)/1000 = 2!.5 units
700ml bottle of 40% scotch = (700 x 40)/1000 = 28 units

That's how units of alcohol work and it can be a useful tool!.
(40% ABV = 80 proof by the way so don't use proof as it
confuses things, just use %ABV)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I believe now that by law all bottles/cans have to state how many units are in the drink!.

On average the best way to work it out is that 1 unit = half pint beer/small glass of wine/ single spirit measure!.
And if my brain serves me correctly women are meant to have no more than 18 units a week and men 21 units a week!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Liquor bottles come in 750Ml, Lt, And 1!.75LT Bottles, What do you mean units, And Scotch is 40 percent alcohol which makes it 80 proof, So either your drunk, Or you no clue what your talking about!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you should be able to work it out on this nhs site
