Beer of the month club?!

Question: Beer of the month club!?
Ive been thinking about subscribing my husband to the beer of the month club for his birthday!. The main one i looked at was pretty pricy so i just wanted to find out if anyone knows if its really worth the price!. The one i looked at you get 12 beers a month with a mix of international and domestic beers and then their newsletter!. Im not sure either if that is the best pick!. There is also the international subscription and the microbrewed!. I could only afford two or three months and then i figured if he really liked it we could renew it!. two months with the mix of international and domestic costs $77!.90 and three months is $116!.85!. the website is http://www!.beermonthclub!.com/join-gift!.h!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I too have only been able to find expensive BOTM programs and have been frustrated about it!. The main cost is in the shipping!.!.!. Glass is heavy!.!.!. and the liquid is 12oz each on top of the bottle!.

My recommendation is to get your husband a subscription or two to some great beer magazines!.

I subscribe to Beer Advocate and All About Beer!.!.!. both great sources for the real beer lover!. With these magazines your husband will be able to read about new releases from breweries all over the world!.!.!. then using that information go to his local brew store and get them himself!. You could also get your hubby twelve gift cards for his favorite store!.!.!. one every month of the year so he can then get those beers he hunted down!.

Damn!.!.!. wish somebodied give me GCs to my favorite beer store! I spent $200 last weekend on mixed singles!.

Anyway, here are the websites for the two magazines I mentioned!.

My concern would be freahness of the beers!. How are they shipped!? Refrigerated!? Insulated!? Will they focus on regions away from your local area!? Can you choose a few fav styles {belgian Abbey ales/lambics, german marzen/Kolsch, American/British craft} Basically are they working for the clients to help them enjoy the clubs offerings!? Perhaps it is worth giving a try and see how it pans out for you both!.

Good luck and enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Other than the good advise above you may try a club/company in which you can choose what you want!. Thereby getting a selection from around the world!. I will look around as I have seen such on-line/mail order companies!.

I'll let you know!.

I found this one!.

By using them/it you can get beers not easily found were you live!. A nice beer treat that you both deserve!.

Enjoy them all!?!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

BOTMC are not worth the investment IMHO!. Find a good Beer and wine store in your area (they exist) and you could really get a great collection of beers for $100!. The idea of a beer magazine, Beer Advocate or Zymergy are two good ones

I'm not sure where you live, but you could likely find a liquor store, bar or restaurant, or local microbrewery, or any combination of the three with interesting beer selections!. You could pick up a six pack (or even mix and match 6 packs some places) every couple weeks and keep your husband in unique beers for years on end at a fraction of that cost!. Different microbreweries sell different seasonal and 'special batch' products throughout the year!. Learning what he-- and both of you for that matter-- like will be a great experience and if you note his favorites, you can buy bigger quantitites for different occasions!.

I know this requires some work, but he will think you are extra sweet!. Hell, any woman bringing home beers is a keeper!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
