Can 40% Rye freeze?!
My boyfriend drinks 12oz bottles of Canadian Club rye on occasion and stores the bottles in our fridge freezer!. Until now, it has NEVER froze!. It is 40% alcohol and we were always told that it cannot freeze, and it never has and he drinks it often enough!. Our freezer is very cold, but should it have frozen!?
It's not completely frozen, but very close!. Hard to pour a drink because it's like 99% slush!.

40% ethanol (alcohol) freezes around -30C unless it is under pressure before being opened!. there should be no change in the freezing point between opened and unopened!. Beer will freeze after opening due to a higher freezing point when at atmospheric conditions!.
