Spirits are heavily taxed, so the gub-mint stands to loose a lot of tax revenue if one were to do it at home!. It really makes no sense as you can brew beer and wine at home!. However, because beer and wine is taxed at such a significantly lower rate, the feds don't lose as much or as fast!.
Even more ridiculous, distilling doesn't make any alcohol!.!.!.it just concentrates it!. Brewing is what makes the alcohol!.!.!.perfectly legally!.

The government can't tax it!. If Uncle Sam can't profit from it, nobody else is allowed to!. It all comes down to economics!.

its not!.!.!.its just illegal in "dry counties" or counties that dont allow alcohol and they r usually in the south
