How would one go about flavoring a homemade brew?!

Question: How would one go about flavoring a homemade brew!?
I've tasted some homemade flavored "corn juice", and was wondering how do they flavor it!? Do they use real fruit!? If so, do they mix it in the mash or let it soak in the final jug!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
There are two ways!. Extract or yes you can use fruit!. If you mix it in the mash all the flavor will be boiled away!. If using real fruit the pectins will make the brew cloudy and contribute to nasty off flavors!. With extract just put it in the final jug its that symple!. with fruit you can put it in the final minutes of the boil or in the fermenting bottle!. Then rack to final bottleWww@FoodAQ@Com

I use fruit juices, mostly!. If the juice has been bottled or canned, it should be sterile and can be added right after the boil!. If it is not sterile, it gets added about the same time as the flavoring hops!. Letting fruit soak in the secondary fermenter is just asking for the introduction of bacteria!. Don't do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
