Red Wine & Open Bottle Question ...?!

Question: Red Wine & Open Bottle Question !.!.!.!?
I opened a bottle of red last week with some friends and stored the already open bottle (that had about a glass left in it) to drink later!. I went to finish it yesterday but found the taste had changed to very acidic!. How long should you keep an open bottle of red for to re-drink!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
When I keep a bottle for later, I make sure to drink it the day after!. The max I've waited to drink it was the second day after, and then the taste was bad!. So the day after is the max!. The taste will be changed already, but not necessarily alot depending the kind of wine!.

I also have a "pump-lid" to close my bottle, it's a lid and it pumps the air out of the bottle and better conserves the wine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's the air that affects the quality of the wine!. When you open a bottle and air gets into it, the freshness will leave!. How about buying the wine that comes in a box!? People may laugh at this, but it's really a very efficient way to have wine!. The bag is much like a disposable bottle liner used for babies - as the liquid is drained, the bag closes in around the wine leaving no air to destroy its flavor!. Wine lasts much longer if you are a light drinker!. Where a bottle may only be fresh for a few days, the box has lasted a month with no ill affects in my refrigerator or on a shelf!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree that it should only be a couple of days!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

a bottle is really only good for a couple of days after being openedWww@FoodAQ@Com
