Question: Healthiest foods to eat during a night of drinking!?
A night at the bar for me usually means an order of loaded nachos or wings, or going out for pizza or fast food afterwards!. Even at someone's house, we're usually going through a bag of chips!.

I know all this food is where the calories and fat that lead to a 'beer' gut comes from, so what can I munch on while enjoying my favorite brew that will satisfy me while cutting back on junk!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

The junk food is part of the beer gut, but the calories from the brew contribute as well!.

Eating healthy during drinking is no different from eating healthy the rest of the time--whole grains, vegetables, and lean meats trump just about everything else!.

Depending on where you do your drinking, simple substitutions might be available--chips and salsa instead of smothered nachos, the roasted or grilled chicken sandwich at the fast food place with barbecue sauce instead of mayo!. Instead of a bag of chips, you could go with pretzels (they're baked, not fried) or a loaf of whole grain French bread with some good cheese!. And I know there's nothing like a good pizza, but a lean sub from Subway with banana peppers and salami might take the edge off!. Just go heavy on the vegetables and light on the oil, mayo, etc!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Veggies, nuts, fruits!.!.!. and good meals!. Spaghetti with salad and bread or whatever!. Something to fill your stomach (but is healthy) to dampen the alcohol and keep you healthy!. Obviously try to stick to things that taste good together (yes, beer is best with Pizza!.!.!. I don't know why!.!.!. maybe go for a healthy pizza!? Are there healthy pizzas!?)!.!.!. drink lots of water, too!. I have a friend who always brings an apple to the bar!. I don't actually suggest that, but it's an idea!. Pretzles (those little ones with salt) are good!.!.!. and healthier than chips!.!.!. Fast Food in general is pretty bad!. Bread is ok (a sandwich!?)!.!.!. and honestly, limit your drinks!. it depends on how much you intend to drink!. if you're going to drink a lot, pizza or burgers, fat and calories will limit the effect of alcohol!.

beer gut is a falacy!. i'm 47, been drinking daily since 18, now at 10-12 beers a day, i weight 121 pounds 5'8" and my 29" waist jeans are a little loose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, the drinking itself is bad enough, so this is sort of the "Diet Coke and pizza" concept!. The health aspect is lost with the drinking!.

Healthiest foods to eat when drinking!? !.!.!.!. healthier just to not drink, but healthy foods are healthy foods whenever you eat them, so I would say raw veggies, nuts (for protein) which will offset the carbs in the alcohol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

and cheese!.
