Adults are not allowed to buy alcohol on behalf of under 18's in a licensed premises!. In the new licensing laws, the only exception is for 16 or 17 year olds who are allowed to drink beer, wine or cider at a meal out with adults (but they may not buy the alcohol themselves)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The legal age to purchase alcohol is 18!. People aged 16 and 17, may consume wine, beer or cider with a table meal, provided they are with an adult and an adult orders it!. (England & Wales only[43], Scotland no adult required to be present[44])!. The legal age for the purchase of liqueur chocolates is 16!. Children under 5 must not be given alcohol unless under medical supervision or in an emergency (Children and Young Persons Act 1933)!.[45] You may not buy alcohol for a drunk person on licensed premises!. All off-sales are advised to ask for photographic ID if the person looks under 21!.
Purchasing alcohol on behalf of a minor is illegal in England and Wales!.[46] In Scotland, from 2009 purchasing alcohol for any minor will be made illegal!. [47

I realise you have already been out and had your meal but thought you might like the correct answer to your question anyway!? Several people here have it correct!.
You can drink beer, wine or cider with a meal, providing the drink is bought by an adult and they are having a meal with you!. There is nothing in the law that says when you can start and when you must stop drinking (it is at the licence holders discretion)!. There is no legal limit nor do you need the permission of the establishment to have a drink!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

in any establishment that sells alcohol, they are trading under a license and it is against the law for anyone under the age of 18 to purchase or consume alcohol!. Even if your mum and dad try to purchase the wine, they are breaking the law by supplying a minor with alocohol! on the other hand, if you look 18 and the wine is odered with the meal, they wont know!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Oh aye you can drink booze in a restaurant at the age of 16
not sure if you need parents there though
if you just want to go to a shop and buy a crate of booze then you have to be 18 though
and in your own home if your parents are good with it then legally you can drink at the age of 5
UK laws these areWww@FoodAQ@Com

YES this is an offence to serve anyone under the age of 18 alcohol in the UK!.
IT is also an offence for any person to supply alcohol to a person of that age!. weather its a parent/guardian or other wise!.
it would be illegal for you to "have" the drink, but if your parents say it is OK then have one, but remember you cause the establishment its licence through your deception!. if you look older than u are you may get away with it you would not be the only person doing it!.
better to drink sensibly with parental consent than out on the streets, HOWEVER it still technically illegal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes
It is legal!.
But the restaurant has to agree, and if it is a pub restaurant they may not allow it as there is so much hype about under age drinking now and they'd rather be safe than sorry!.
Just get your mum to order it, or order a bottle then you mum can pour you a glass!. In other words, don't make a big thing about it!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If they are eating a full course meal from the restaurant then they are allowed a glass of wine with that meal!. But it must be bought by the adult and the adult should be the persons guardian!. Think the pub has to sell proper food as well and not just the usual "pub snacks"Www@FoodAQ@Com
