Depends on a lot of things!. Persons size, age, experience with drinking, type of alcohol, if you ate first etc!.
To reach the legal limit of 0!.08% most average size men would need 3-4 drinks!. 3 pints usually does it, but that is not drunk by most definitions, just to much to drive!. For women it is usually less, not just because of body size, but physiology!.
To be drunk, drunk it normally takes 8 for me, and at least 12 to be falling down, wobbly, slurring drunk!. I try to avoid that except on special occasions!. I normally drink beer too, when drinking vodka I can drink a lot more drinks than this and not feel as drunk!.
