I reckon it's fine that he's offering it to you !.!.!. my parents drilled into me from a young age that the important thing is drinking in moderation and not going overboard and getting totally wasted!. They allowed me to drink reasonable amounts at home - as in, a glass of wine with a meal, for appriciation rather than to get drunk - and I think I'm much better off than those of my friends who weren't taught about drinking and getting drunk and will, now they're overage, go off the rails and try to get drunk ASAP "because it's cool"!.
It's not a big deal !.!.!. if you're not comfortable with the idea, you're doing the right thing to refuse!. Don't let yourself be pressured into anything; just explain to your dad that you were joking and you don't want to be drinking at your age!. Again !.!.!. don't let yourself be pressured into anything, if you want to it's harmless enough *in moderation*, if you don't want to that's fine too!. It doesn't matter what other kids you age do and don't do - what matters is what you want to do!. Just accept yourself, and everyone else will do the same!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My parents gave me a drink when I was 14, don't worry about it! I think it's better to be exposed to alcohol when you're in a safe environment, and you couldn't get any safer than being with your parents! Plus, since they gave it to you, you can't get into trouble!
It's the people who never get exposed to alcohol that go to college and end up in the hospital getting their stomach pumped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know where you live, but where I live (Washington State) it's perfectly legal to have alcohol if your parents were to give it to you in YOUR HOUSE!. The law states that you have to be 21 to purchase alcohol and drink it in a public establishment!. Since your parents bought and own the alcohol and give it to you on their private property it's ok!.
That's the legal side!.
I think that it's not a good sign to let your kids drink when they're underage to begin with!. Too much alcohol at the "development" stages in a young person life can have serious permenant effect on the brain!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think maybe you're dad might just want to see how you react to drinking alcohol, like if you like it and drink it quickly or slowly!. Or maybe he wanted your first time drinking to be with him, so he knows you're doing it responsibly!. I'm 15 and have gotten drunk with my parents on more than one occasion!. Some parents are like that, if you don't feel comfortable with it then don't do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
alcoholic drinks is bad esp!. when ur still growing , it can be the start of alcoholism which can lead to illnesses later in ur life, stunted growth and can lead to slower mental development!.(become dumber)!. And later in life a higher chance of a dui offence which is quite serious!.
A lot of domestic violence comes from alcoholism!.
Basically its trouble waiting to happen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're making a big deal of it, and I'm pretty sure it's just the mix, lol!. They sell it like that all the time!. You have to add the alcohol - an 11 year old could go to the store and buy it!. He probably just thought you would want to feel grown up and taste it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
1!.) Alcohol can stunt brain development in teenagers!. However, you need to drink quite a bit before your mid 20's!. So a small bit of alcohol in a drink will do no harm once in a while!.
2!.) If he has given you permission to do so, it is okay legally!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depending on where you live, it might be perfectly legal for you to drink in your own house with your parent's/guardian's permission!.
I think your dad just wants you to learn how to be responsible about alcohol!. Many people realize that if a young adult is forbidden to consume alcohol until they turn 21, chances are that as soon as they reach that age, they'll get carried away with it!. People are just starting to catch on to the idea that if you teach your kids how to drink and how to be responsible about it, they are much less likely to abuse alcohol when they're older and out drinking on their own!.
But it all comes down to how YOU feel!. You were uncomfortable with the idea, and you said no, and I think that shows that you're already showing some responsibility concerning alcohol!. If you're concerned or freaked out, or whatever, just talk to your parents!. I'm sure your dad would explain his intentions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Salutations,
is it a mix, or is there actually alcohol in it!? Maybe your Dad thinks if you try it and don't like it he won't have to worry about your trying it again!. The way I look at it is this, as a parent, I would probably let my kids Have a sip of say wine or beer if I was drinking it and they asked what it tasted like!. I feel this best answers their Natural curiosity about it, and does not give it the Attractivness of something that is Forbidden by Adults!. Just my 2 cents!. Cheers!. They are teenagers also!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In France and other European countries, (Portugal, Spain, Holland, etc) it is customary for children to be allowed to have wine at meals!. Even at breakfast, in some places!. It is not a big deal!. also, as others have noted, it is not technically illegal for you to Drink, just to purchase alcohol or to consume it in a public establishment (i!.e!., if your father passed you a beer while you were sitting in McDonald's, and you drank it, that would technically be illegal)!. It is perfectly legal for you to drink at home, particularly if your parents approve!. Therefore, your father did not violate any laws in offering the daquiri to you!.
Moreover, it was probably just the mixer, which contains no alcohol, and probably does taste similar to strawberry pop!. (:
hope this helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com
