Most people will tell you to start off with a American lagers like Bud/Miller/Coors in all of their "light", "dry", "ice", etc!. iterations!. I would disagree with this advice!. It is true that these beers offer the least flavor and so may be less likely to offend the uninitiated palate!. This, however, hardly seems a reason to start with these beers!. Sort of like telling someone that they should be introduced to rock and roll with Chicago !.!.!. inoffensive, sure, but hardly a band that will inspire you!.

I suggest trying a myriad of ales and lagers to discover what turns you on!. Mind you, the American beer scene is very regionalized in terms of availability so it's difficult to know the exact beers to recommend!. But, here are some great "starter" beers:

American Wheat: Bells Oberon, Widmer Wheat are two good variations of this style!. Crisp and refreshing and cleaner than their German counterparts!.

German Wheat: Hackerschorr or Franziskaner represent two very available versions of this style!. Look for clove and banana flavors!.

Belgian Wit: Hoegarden or Wittekerke!. Typified by coriander and citrus spice!.

Stout: Guinness is the standard and not a bad place to start!. But, there are a number of great ones!. Try and taste chocolate and coffee in these beers!.

Pale Ales: Stone, Brooklyn, Sierra Nevada all produce great variants of this style!. This should be crisp from the hops, but also have a noticeable malt (sweet, caramel) backbone!.

Fruit Lambics: The Lindeman line-up are very approachable with Cherry, Raspberry, Currant and Apple versions of this style!.

There are so many different beer styles and brewers!. Your question could fill a book!. However, in the long run, I think you will gain a much stronger appreciation of beer if you try its different variants!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Believe it or not I would recommend a Barley wine!. Although they are high in alcohol they can actually have more of a malty taste and as long as you don't get Stone Barley wine it can actually be less bitter!. Another suggestion could also be a IPA or a double IPA at times the hoppier the beer the more of a citrus flavor it can have and has a great aroma!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would go with a lager!. My normal (which means the beer I drink the most of) is Coors Light!. It is crisp and clean, and finishes light!. I enjoy several different ales!. The best thing to do is buy a different six pack every week!. After a while you will find out what you like and what you dont!. Steer clear of anything that is super cheap!. You are wasting your time both drinking it, and the morning after sitting on the shitter!. Cheers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should probably start off with wine coolers or something similar!. But the thing to drinking beer is, just dont taste it!. Its opposite of drinking soda or juice!. You just take big gulps and try not to let it hit your tongue and just man up and take it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

wow, haven't ever heard of a guy who was having a problem not being able to drinking enough!.!.!.!.but uuhh!.!.okay!. Well, what can I say!? The beer i got started on = Milwaukee's Best ICE!. Cheap, 5!.9 %, tasty!. Good stuff, man!.!.!.!.!.OR maybe you should just be satisfied with not drinking and quit giving into the pressure to drink!? Easier said than done!.!.!.I know!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I used to think I hated beer, but then I had Corona with lime!. It's much more bearable than the Budweiser I tried first, and I actually enjoy it with good Mexican food!. I have also discovered I like Heineken!. All the other beers I've ever tried I thought were disgusting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

bud or corona or start off with a wine cooler they are good!.!.!.after one or two of those the beer taste wont matter!.!.lol or better yet just dont drinkWww@FoodAQ@Com
