For me it's no preference for what kind of alcohol they drink!.

I am in sales for a liquor, wine, and beer distributor and I need to be knowledgeable of all types of booze, and I am wiling to try them, also!. Does this make me an alcoholic!.!.!. I don't think so!. I think an alcoholic is one who abuses it, and lets alcohol interfere with ones life and others for the pure selfishness of it!. You don't have to be one that drinks many types of alcohol to be an alcoholic, you can abuse just one thing, even beer or wine, which are lower in alcohol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think that if you are willing to try any alcohol that it may be that you like to experiment and see what is out there and what you would really like!. I know alcoholics personally and what makes them so is that they drink every day enough to become intoxicated!. You can look up textbook definitions, but that's just what I think!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
An alcoholic is someone who drinks for escape not just for the fun of it!. An alcoholic can also be someone who has dependency on alcohol (ex!. can't have fun without it, need it to calm down, etc!.)!.

The defining characteristic is an inability to stop drinking despite negative personal and financial effects caused directly by drinking!.
