It's known as 'Buckie' or 'electric soup' by our Scottish cousins who drink it in great quantities!.
In moderation it shouldn't do an elderly person any harm!.

Yes it dos contain alcohol and is medicated Gos back to 1880 in this country!. \The recipe for the tonic wine is attributed to french monks!.
