If you simmer it, yes!. The traditional method is to stick a hot poker into the wine!. The ash actually improves the taste of an acidic wine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think it matters!. It only needs warming through, not boiling!. It will heat quicker with a lid on, bu it doesn't take long anyway!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cover the pot, but don't bring right up to a fierce boil, just a very gentle simmer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
