Which wine would have have more calories...chardennay or savion blanc?!

Question: Which wine would have have more calories!.!.!.chardennay or savion blanc!?
Answers:
With these two wines, its funny that they are actually virtually the same in many situations!. It of course will vary with the exact vintage, but as a rule of thumb you can consider the average glasses of them to come within 10 calories of each other!.

Chardonnay is indeed dryer, which means there is less sugar in it!. However it often has just a bit more alcohol in it, which is also where the calories come from!. So you see how tricky it can be often gauging the exact calorie count in just a general type of wine!.

Your typical white wines come in generally at about 80 calories per glass, give or take 25%!. Rice wines tend to have even less than this, perhaps 70 or so calories!. As you get into the heartier wines and the dessert wines, some ports and sherries can clock in at over 250 calories! Theres a lot of difference depending on what your drinking!.

However if you look at the big picture, your typical 20oz bottle of soda has over 250 calories in it!. Looking at it that way, 80 calories isnt so bad after all, maybe you should have a second glass!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Generally, the more dry a wine is - fewer calories!. But in terms of white wines it all about the same like 30 calorie different per 750 ml bottle!.

Chardonnay's are more dry than sauvignon blancs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chardonnay is generally higher in alcohol, therefore more calories!.
That's a generality however!.!.!.check the alcohol content on the wine's labels!.

(both wines are normally fermented to total dryness so the sugar content effect is negligible)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think savignon blanc because it is darker!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Statistically no difference!. Every bottle is going to vary somewhat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chardenny!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
