I do not know where else to ask these, do then have a drinking problem?!
If some one drinks for six months every day and it takes another 3 months for them to stop and then messed up about 5 time in the 3 months is that a drinking problem!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
In the 6 month period when they drank heavily, they thought they had a drinking problem!. It's probable that they in fact did, but without further details it's hard to say!. For whatever reasons, it reached a point where they said to themselves "Enough is enough, I have to stop!." And then they actually tried to go through with it!.
The 3 months after that are a sort of recovery period!. Yeah, you mess up on the way, it's called a relapse!. But 5 times in 3 months is what, once every couple weeks!? That's not a big deal!.
This person has recognized a problem and fixed it themselves!. That's just excellent, and it's good that they were able to do that!. Most people need some help, others don't, it's not at all uncommon to be able to do that alone!.
So, I have to say that at this time, no they do not have a drinking problem!. It appears that they had one, but then fixed it!. If they stay dedicated and don't "mess up" more frequently, then they won't have a problem with it!. The level that they are drinking is fine, for most people, but since they had a problem, I would expect that they would want to be drinking even less frequently!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can use the CAGE questions - a score of 2 plus may suggest a problem!. I've just qualified as a doctor and I use it as a crude survey if I suspect alcohol problems!. Obviously if you think there is a problem the answer is to get specialist help (they use better surveys too - you could probably get one by googling alcohol abuse screening tool or something similar)
anyaway - cage questions are as follows
Have you ever felt you should Cut down on your drinking!?
Have people Annoyed you by criticizing your drinking!?
Have you ever felt bad or Guilty about your drinking!?
Have you ever had a drink first thing in the morning to steady your nerves or to get rid of a hangover (Eye opener)!?
They tend to work better if you haven't talked much about alcohol first - if you do, people will start to see where you are going with these questions and maybe lie!. Answering yes to 2 or more is suggestive of a problem!.
There are lots of other things that coul suggest as a problem (e!.g!. getting a drink becoming that persons first priority in life, narrowing of drinking repetoire i!.e!. only drinking one or two things, self neglect etc etc etc - too many to list here)
However the picture you describe does sound like someone who has had to try really hard to give up and has relapsed a few times!. Support is the key thing, AA meetings, detox, whatever works for the person in question!.
Best of luck to whomever this question is about!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If I understood you correctly, over the course of three months, you only drank 5 times!.
That's very good in my opinion!. Good for you!. Just keep it like that -- don't do it daily, maybe only a couple times a month!. You might think about it a lot, but try to figure out why!. Are you bored!? If that's the case, find something else to occupy your time/mind and that makes you happy!. The fact that you think about it a lot but haven't caved in is a good thing!. Use that as inspiration to continue not to relapse!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I ahve been in and out a AA meetings!. Medically they say "If you rely on a drink every day then you are an alcoholic, even if it is one drink!."
I believe that if drinking interfers with daily life, then there is a problem!.
It is very simple in my eyes!. Quitting drinking is also quitting a lifestyle, it is not easy, it might not be the drink, it may be the people!. I was scared to quit the frst time because what would I do in my free time!. Ask him that!. What is so hard for you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Does it interfere with your daily life!?
If no, then you don't have a problem!.
Do you get shitfaced everytime you drink and pass out on your front lawn!?
If yes, you definitely have a problem!.
This is a pretty easy question to answer!. People have a drink everyday!. It's natural!. I know a lot of people who do it, but we don't know your circumstance so therefore I can't diagnose you with a "problem!."Www@FoodAQ@Com
