Lets get some real talk. JACK DANIELS?!
Alright!.!.!. everyone knows of jack daniels!. it is a very popular whiskey and a lot of people prefer it!. HOWEVER, a lot of people also feel its not a great whiskey and its overpriced!. I tend to agree with them!. The whole concept of paying for the name really applies in this situation!. What do yall think!? Is it a legit high end alcohol or a rip off!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Jack is without question a triumph of marketing over substance!.
Their branding and marketing is world class!. Wearing the logo identifies you as a part of a very special group with special attitudes and attributes!. The distillery tour is the finest I've ever been on; I highly recommend it, and can't wait to go again!. And the souvenir shop! Mercy!
But the whiskey itself is just so-so!. Gentleman Jack ain't bad, but I just prefer the product that comes out of Kentucky!.!.!.
!.!.!.which technically isn't fair because Tennessee Whiskey is not the same animal as bourbon!.
High End!?!?!? Oh my!!! Spend a few minutes (or hours) in a Good liquor store and price out some of the premium whiskeys!. Calling Jack "high end" is like bragging about a Ford Fiesta that has leather seats!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I disagree - there is not another Bourbon whiskey that touches Jack Daniels!. AND it's made in a DRY STATE in America!. (That means that you cannot buy or drink it in that state)!.
The cheapest place to purchase it is in Spain!. Sometimes in French Supermarkets you can get it a bit cheaper, if it's on offer, but in England it's very rarely on offer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well I am from the UK and i personally think it depends what you are after!. On a night out at a club or pub its basically all i drink!. But thats because it costs about the same as anything else in a bar!.
I love JD but also love proper whiskey but i do not put JD into that category as the flavour is completely different to any whiskey or bourbon i have tasted!.
I do agree that JD is overpriced as I never buy a bottle to drink at home!.
In the UK JD is the same price as Jamesons or Jim beam and unless you like the really cheap stuff or the aged stuff its pretty much all thats on offer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The standards employed in making Jack Daniels are very close to the standards employed in making bourbon!. These standards are higher and more stringent than the standards for making single malt scotch!. One of the standards in making bourbon and Jack Daniels is that the barrels used for aging the whiskey must be new charred oak barrels!. As a matter of facts, scotch distillers import used bourbon and Jack Daniels barrels to age their scotch in them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Many people just like it because its made in the USA, and not on Mexico or Commi China!. so amny americans when they see all of this work is beong outsorced, they like an American Drink!. and Jack is also vey good, a great color and flavor to it!. Its All American!.
Ill give it to you that its not a "High End" drink, if it was, can you even afford to drink it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

absolute crap!. Doesn't even meet the standards to be a bourbon!. That's why they call it a whiskey which could mean it's made with just about anything!. They press it through cherry charcoal to filter it which makes it sweeter!. Thats the same way they filter many cheap vodka's!.(not cherry charcoal but charcoal) This one is all in the marketing which they've done extremely well!. Try some Maker's Mark or any other real bourbon!. You dont even have to mix them with coke to kill the bad taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Jack Daniels is so smooth - cheap whiskey (like Evan Williams) gives me a terrible headache!. I can definitely tell the difference!. Canadian Whiskey would be my 2nd choice - like Seagrams!.
Like anything, you pay a lot for the name and reputation, but generally speaking, I think Jack is worth the price!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I used to drink the stuff all the time when i was younger and thought that it was the best stuff ever to hit the planet Earth!.
I traded it in for Canadian Club and then moved on to Kessler at some point!.
I found Kessler on the second shelf of a bar i went to recently!.
Just a little tip there for ya!.
I recently tried a shot of Jack from a friend of mine who hasn't yet gotten a clue and drinks it like water and thinks he is immune, ( hint hint), and can you believe it just did not have that same kick!? ha ha
Basically!? I think your tendencies you have are correct!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Old No!.7 USED to be AGED 7 years until it got too popular!. The quality standards were compromised and it is just an ordinary whisky now!.
Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve, and many other high end whiskies are better!. Even Makers Mark is a better product!. I'd much rather drink the Mark than JD!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

JD is what my friends and I drank in high school, when our goal during the summer was to finish a bottle by drinking it straight from the bottle!. We were such losers!
I have never had JD since those days!.
I do like a good bourbon!. I like WL Weller special reserve for the price!.
JD is a nice little slice of americana, but I don't choose to drink it!. So many nicer things!.
Lots of bourbon recipes nowadays for steak, etc!. JD would be good for those recipes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's high end for Americans!. And I think that's fair!. When I lived in Tokyo, Japanese love whiskey, they had better cheaper kinds there!. But they always love Jack too (it's just expensive for them as an import)!.
I'm a Martini lover, dry and dirty as hell is how I go!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is a rip off!. There are many whiskey makers which make a much finer drink than this!. It is not well made and because of this contains many impurities!. Of course, these very impurities cause a drunk which is exactly what some people like about it!. Myself, I prefer a single malt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Jack Daniels may be very popular but it's by far NOT top-end or even close to it in my opinion!. American whiskies like Woodford Reserve, T!.H!. Handy and George T!. Stagg are what's considered high end and deservedly so!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The reason Jack is so expensive is it still has only one distillery!. and it is a supply and demand!. if you get a chance and have cable or satelite tv check out the modern marvels (history channel) on whiskey it is quite informative!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
That is a purely personal choice!. Some people pay hundreds of dollars for a shot of a rare cognac or scotch!. Wine lovers pay hundreds or thousands for a top vintage!. I personally have never liked JD preferring Evan Williams when I used to drink it!. Now I stick to beer!Www@FoodAQ@Com
i don't personally drink but when i worked in the liquor dept!. at my job every body thought the same thing they all went after the Kentucky whiskey they all said that it all tastes the same your just paying less for itWww@FoodAQ@Com
It's great!. You're only overpaying if you don't know about liquor and you can't tell the difference by tasting good or bad!.
I carry it around in my jacket at all times -- thank the Lord for those little $8 bottles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you live in the tip of texas (5 miles from the border) like I do, a normal bottle of jack only costs 10 bucks, a bargain in my book!. Jack has a sweet taste but still potent!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't particularly care for it!. I'm more of a Maker's Mark person!. It's a little too "franchised" if you know what I mean!. Jack Daniels that is!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i think its a rip off
its not worth it so that you can get drunk of it and possibly ruin your life in one night because of it
!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
overpriced!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is good paint remover, also good to clean stains off concrete!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
everyone i know prefers WindsorWww@FoodAQ@Com
I think evan williams taste exactly like jd and its quite a bit less!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
