The Russian absinthe I had (it probably comes in different strengths) was 140 proof, but most hard liquors are 80 proof!. So if you know your regular tolerance, go from there, keeping in mind you're taking in the alcohol faster!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Probably about half the amount that hard alcohols (vodka!. !. !.) do to get you tipsy!.
The majority of Absynthe that you will find no longer is made with the hallucinagen in it that made it so famous, even in europe!. It's just a really strong alcohol that doesn't taste that great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I hear it's really nasty stuff!. I have never taken it but my 110 lb girlfriend did and said it made her feel really tired and sick the next day!. Just start with a little bit maybe, or perhaps just stick to alcohol instead!Www@FoodAQ@Com
