Answers:
Bartending schools for the most part are a waste of time and money!. IMHO!. I will not hire someone coming out of bartending school!. You should work your way up to the bar!. Start as a bar back if you can somewhere and work into the place!. You'll learn to appreciate all that goes into it!. Bar schools cost you lots of money and you really wont get hired at any decent bars, you'll wind up at a middle of the road corporate restaurant not making any real $$!. If you look online, you can learn what drinks you'll need to know!. Theres no reason to memorize a whole bar book b/c you'll NEVER use all the drinks!. The majority of things you'll make usually turn out to be one liquor drinks!.!.i!.e!. Rum and coke, Scotch and water!. As you pour the liquor, count to 4, stop pouring when you reach 4, fill the drink with the mix that you're using and there you go!. That's your first lesson!. Learn a few common shots like Kamikazee, Red Headed Sl*ts, Jager bombs, Royal F***, things like that!. also go to your local bar and ask what the most common shots they pour are and then look them up!. Learn to make a GOOD margarita, learn to pour a beer without too much head (foam), learn a Long Island Iced Tea( vodka, gin, rum, triple sec, sweet and sour, and dash of coke) Of the bars and clubs i've worked, these are your standards!. Learn a fruity drink or two for the lady that comes in and doesnt always know what she wants!. It'll make her happy and help your tips!. Most of all, you have to be friendly, those "cool guys" behind the bar doing flare (spinning bottles and throwing them) are a joke!. While their impressing the person in front of them, the ppl behind them are still waiting and those 3,4 or 5 ppl that are waiting will give a smaller tip!. Learn your drinks, keep a neat work area and speed is key!. Mrsblachford owning a small bar will tell you that she depends on those ppl to help pay the bills, you piss them off by making them wait or being unfriendly , and they might not come back!.

One last tip, if you cut someone off!.!.stick to it, dont go back on your word!. No matter how much they offer or promise you!. It'll only lead to problems!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i own a small town bar and before that i worked in the same bar for a year but we would rather train our bartenders bc you learn bad habits from other ppl all the time!. i would rather you not know how to mix a single drink to start with so i can train you to do it my way and the previous owner was the same way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is not necessary to go to school, it won't help you get hired!. Find a restaurant that has a service bar (where you don't serve customers directly, but make drinks for servers to bring to tables) and work your way up from there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'ts around 200-1,000$ for a basic course
1!.You need to know all the drinks (There is always new ones)
