I too love Rioja!. Riojas are blends of red grapes with the major grape being tempranillo!. I relate the wines of Rioja with many of the fine Chiantis!.
Chianti is also (but not always) a blend of red grapes from the Chianti region in Tuscany, Italy!. The principle grape, of which the wine must be 75% to 100% is Sangiovese!. Chianti is an excellant dry red that may be appreciated by the Rioja wine lovers!.
If you are looking for something a little sweeter, I would suggest an Amorone from the Veneto region of Italy!. The Amorones though, are a little pricey!.
also if you favor the Riojas, try some reds from the Ribera Del Duero region of Spain!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
