When buying alcohol is ID a waste of time?!
It seems theyve made up their mind as soon as you walk in the door!. I can travel abroad on my passport with no problems yet when I go to buy drink and use my passport as ID they say that person doesn't look like me!!? How paranoid are off licenses supermarkets and bouncers becoming!? I heard that Morrison's wont sell drink to under 25's now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Always take 2 FORMS of ID with you when buying alcohol or going to a bar!.
If the first picture does not look like you, a second ID should convince the bartender, bouncer or clerk!.
A person who sells alcohol to a is in more trouble than a the minor!. The seller will be arrested, lose his job and jeopardize the jobs of every other employee and the owner!.
In our litigious society the seller could be sued, after being arrested and jailed, if a minor hurts himself or someone else in any type of accident!. Nobody wants to take responsibility for themselves!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it gets you upset you could try bringing up a lot of alcohol, then have the money ready in your hand and if they want to card you, just put the stuff back and say you're going to another store!. They might bite on that one especially if you do it in a very mature manner!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When I started drinking in the end of the 50s, there were laws of course, but it was a little more live and let live!. Gradually, the powers that be, got so creative at giving out fines and raising revenue, that it's turned into an art form!. They started sending underage guys into bars and giving tickets to everyone in or out of sight!. I'm surprised that the dog sleeping in the kitchen didn't get one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The reason why it's because their job is on the line!. They want to be certain it is you, because they can get fined! The individual, the store itself and they can also loose their liqour license for a few days!
When you have a passport at the airport, you you would probably always have to have a 2nd form of ID!. Next time you go bring a second form of ID when you get your alcohol!. Better safe than sorry!.
