Does putting tomato juice in beer serve any purpose?!

Question: Does putting tomato juice in beer serve any purpose!?
Back in the sixties many people I knew would add tamato juice in their Coors beer!. One man I rode to work with who was from Cuba so it may be acustom over there I do not know but he would buy a case of coors everdy on the way home and a case of small cans of tamato juice, drink enough of the beer to add the juice and then drink it!. He never would tell me why he did this!. I do not know if it was just a ppersonal prefrence or if it had a purpose!. He did drive and drink!.

He would dringk three or four like that at the drive in then open one and drink two more before getting home!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

What you're referring to is a Michelada, or a "Chelada" for short!.!.!. a popular beverage in Mexico and Latin America that is like a Bloody Mary but with beer instead of vodka!. I'm not sure why it has to serve some sort of purpose to you-- it is a cultural drink!.

The name came after Mexico's Revolution General Augusto Michel, from San Luis Potosí in central Mexico who used to drink his beer at his favorite restaurant added with some spicy sauces and lemon juice!. The other version of the origin of the name, also pointing to San Luis Potosí, says "Michel Esper" invented it in the "Club Deportivo Potosino"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's a taste thing, and it goes down easier for some people!. also, you get lovely vitamins!
I'm on the Canadian prairie, and using clamato juice is really popular!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The purpose it serves is to ruin your beer!. I've never had anything quiet as disgusting as a chilada!. Tomato juice, clam juice and beer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because Coors tastes like crap, he wanted it to taste better!. Or actually HAVE a taste!?

Clamato is only made to make BMC (Bud-Miller-Coors) have a taste other than watered down stale corn piss!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Other than liking the flavor I can't think of any reason to do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
