The more I drink, the better my spelling gets. What is up with that?!

But to answer your question, I've always believed that there is actually a "sweet spot" when drinking that positively affects your talents and abilities!.
For instance, when I play a game of darts or pool dead sober I'm not as good as if I'd been drinking 3 or 4 beers!.
To me, it seems like my focus is enhanced and I'm better able to tune out distraction when a bit inebriated!.
I'd imagine it's something similar with your spelling!. Perhaps your focus and concentration get enhanced too!.
It is a sweet spot though!.!.!. and for me I've narrowed it to between 3-5 beers (real beer, not watered down)!. Any less than that and I find no real benefit to performance!. Any more than that and you're starting to get sloppy and performance is hindered!.
So it's a balancing act!.
