Before I reached 18 in 1956!. My father took me into a pub to see what they were like after my 18th birthday!. Not only were under 18's not allowed to drink in a Public Bar, they were actively discouraged from even going into one and banished to a Family Room for their lemonade or made to stand outside the building!. The Family Room had no bar in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Licensing Act 1872 first introduced restrictions on opening hours and also covered being drunk, but I don't think age came in to it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
