No poisonous affects are found in beer caused by copper!.
The amount of copper in beer from the equipment used to make it is not a concern for human health!. It however, may be for the yeast!.
When copper is highly polished it goes into solution at a much greater rate!. It has been found that high concentrations of copper can inhibit yeast activity or kill it!. So if using copper anywhere in the brewing process clean it but do not scratch it to a bright polish!.
Copper is also believed to be a haze inhibitor in beer!. Again this is not a health but a clean or "bright beer" issue!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Many brewers use copper lauter/mash tuns!.!.!.so no it won't poison you!.
