I do not like the taste of beer?!

Question: I do not like the taste of beer!?
I do not like the taste of beer!. I have been told that it is a taste that you have to become accustomed to!. My fiance enjoys having a beer in the evening!. I would love to be able to sit down and enjoy having a beer with her!. My question is, are there any recommended ways to cause you're taste buds to become accustomed to the taste!. Or are there any beers that actually have a good flavor!. I have been told that there are, but i do not know of any!. I would be thrilled at any advice anyone has to offer on this subject!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I see alot of these questions, and I've helped a few friends get into good beers!. I've, for one reason or another, never had a problem with beer!. I started with a Sam Adams Summer Ale, which is a decent beer, but has a sorta unusual flavor!. I've never had any of the typical Bud/Miller/Coors/Corona type of beers, as I contended from the beginning they don't represent what beer is (by definition, malt, yeast, hops, water -- nothing else is allowed; these breweries use rice and/or corn, therefore it's not a beer)!.

Anyways, I think you haven't found something that you can actually spend time learning to like!. It's pretty pointless to sit down and try to enjoy a Natural Ice, it's just a horrid beer!. Nobody really drinks that for any reason other than a cheap drunk, so you tend to see it in college alot!. If you're drinking cheap beer, stop it now!.

So, what you should do is find out what your favorite style of beer is, or at least whether you lean towards malt or hops!. Hops, as you should know, are a type of plant used to extract alpha acids, which bitter beer!. But, they also give each beer a unique taste, whereas different hops also have different flavors -- they aren't all just blatantly bitter!. The aroma of a beer comes from the hops, and sadly Bud/Miller/Coors use inferior hops!.

If you've never had a "true" beer, as I defined above, then we really are starting from scratch!. So, you need to figure out if you prefer malt or hops!. Hops would best be represented by a pale ale (an IPA would make the point obvious, but is probably too bitter)!. Sierra Nevada makes an excellent pale ale that is available nationwide, and I believe it is 6!.6% ABV!. For the malts, you have a lot of types of beer which are more malt than hops!. Stout, porter, bock, schwarzbier are all maltier!. I personally found that Sam Adams Black Lager (a Schwarzbier) is a good light flavored, dark malty beer!. It looks more intimidating than it is!. This tends to have a more coffee/chocolate flavor!. I've converted a few friends from their typical Coors Light over to good beers just with that, but your tastes of course may vary!.

Now, the other situation is much easier to resolve!. If you've been drinking good beer, but it tastes too bitter, then you should switch over to a maltier beer!. I use www!.ratebeer!.com to see what others think about beers before I buy them, especially when a 22oz may be $5!. If you can find Rogue products, they make a good Chocolate Stout!. A more national product is Sam Adams Cream Stout, which is darker than their black lager, but also sweeter!.

Once you figure out what your preferences are, it's just a matter of trying more local beers and seeing what your stores have to offer!. There are several thousand breweries in the US, there's no reason you need to turn to imported beers (except for authentic Belgian ales!.!.!. but at $12 for a 750mL, we're not talking everyday beers here)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a firm believer that there is a beer out there for everyone!.
There are some many different styles that makes it impossible for someone to say all beer tastes the same!.

If you want to drink a beer in which you might not even realize you are drinking beer, I suggest a Lambic!. Lindeman's is widely available and in variety of flavors!. There are many other brands of lambic if the style is to your liking!. Other Belgian styles such as a tripple or various strong ales have a more complex maybe even "wine like quality"!.

Many beers flavors especially strong hop or strong malt flavors are a very acquired taste!.

The key is to find a style you like, you may have to go to a decent liquor store to find some brew, but build on that!. I love my heavy full flavored intense beers, but it didn't happen over night!. Some beers which I will drink now were overwhelming a year or two ago!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are many kinds of beers to try!. I'd recommend trying as many as need to find one you like!. Try www!.BeerAdvocate!.com as they list over 10,000 different beers from around the world!.
To get used to the taste, try dark beers!. It may be hard at first, but the lighter ones will seem much more palatable!.
Good starter beers I'd recommend: Michelob Amberbock, Leinenkugel Honeyweiss (berryweiss if in season), or any local brewery, as they tend to have better flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I used to hate the taste of beer, I thought it tasted and smelt so nasty!.
But after going to a few parties I became to kinda like the taste!. Some beers I like better then others though for sure!. Like, I think Budweiser taste really nasty, but although its sterotypical for a teen to admit, I kinda like the taste of busch or bud light!.
Just always make sure its cold when you drink it!.
Warm beer is disgusting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you don't like beer, don't drink beer!. Some people say drink the lighter beer to get into it, but it's much better to have a glass of wine than look like some trailer trash drinking Coors Lite!. What tastes do you like!? There are micro-breweries that produce chocolate flavoured beer, espresso flavoured beer, and so on!. Again, you're better off drinking water or soda than the piss-swill known as MGD or Sam Adams!. You don't have to like beer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I used to be the same way!. Until, my husband and I went to a brewery and got to taste test a lot of beers!. Most breweries have the taste test tray!. I discovered that I actually love dark, rich beer!. My favorite right now is Sam Adams!. I still love my wine but I do like to have some beers with my husband!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

same here!.The people who im close to are all alchoholic!.I just hate the smell sight and taste of a beer!. But i have to pretend that im comfortable with it most of the time!. eitherwise ill just give some excuses just to get away!. same goes to vodka, wine n ect!.!. my taste buds are not willing to accept it!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you should start off with shandy, a light beer and lemonade mixed and with each glass reduce the amount of lemonade, or over time and then you might get the taste for it! you could also try a white beer, i would recommend Hoegarden it doesnt taste like beer at all and is very easy drunk! heres the website, check it out: http://www!.hoegaarden!.org!.uk/whatisit!.as!.!.!. cheers!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you don't like it, don't fight it!. Have a glass of wine or a light cocktail with your fiance!. Let her know you are your own person and won't change to accommodate her preferences!. Personally, I like beer!. But that's me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you want a beer that does not have that beer flavor, try Michelob Ultra!. It tastes a lot like a ginger ale without the sugar flavor!. Just my 2 cents !. !. !.Www@FoodAQ@Com
