Do I drink too much??!

Question: Do I drink too much!?!?
Hi!. I am 30 years of age!. I have always loved having a drink but I think maybe I over do it!. I don't drink every day but even on the days that I don't I still crave alcohol but I am able to go without!.
I mainly drink lager, not strong alcohol and I can get through 8-10 cans in a night!. I don't have any problems or worries, I just enjoy a beverage!.
I have now been accused of being a alcoholic and a binge drinker but I don't see myself as this!.
My mother was an alcoholic and I would never want to get like that!. What do you think!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

drink & enjoy! your not alone!Www@FoodAQ@Com

the only real problemthat I can see is that you don't consider lager a strong drink!.
10 smalltins =2!.5 ltrs=+/- 4 pints=8 units alcohol

8 whiskys = 8units

10 large tins = 3ltrs = +/- 5pints=10 units
Its not what you drink ,its how many you have and it looks as though you are on you way to joining your Mum!.

I am lucky I know that I don't have a problem in that my system has never become used to alcohol ,so 4pints means I'm dead for two days, about once a fortnight!.

I son't think you have a healthy "relationship" with alcohol! My friends family is alcoholics, and she says she is nothing like them, but well she have to drink atleast 2-3 times a wekk! I call that beginning of a life as a alcoholic! If you can stick with going out like on Saturdays and enjoying yourself that is fine, but sitting alone drinking = not goodWww@FoodAQ@Com

I believe you do!. The fact that you asked the question, makes me think that you are worried about it, too!.

I hope you get help now, before this goes any further!. If others are saying you have a problem, you do!. Especially if more than one person is telling you this!. That's a major, major red flag!.

Please check out the AA website!. There's a questionnaire that can help you see where you stand with your drinking!.

http://www!.alcoholics-anonymous!.org/en_i!.!.!.

I wish you well, and really hope you use AA or another resource to help yourself!. I'm betting that you can and will, since you had the guts to post this question!. Good luck!

That's a lot of alcohol you're taking in in one night!. You should be extra careful considering alcoholism runs in your family!. also keep in mind that sometimes friends and family can see things you don't because they have an outside perspective!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Be careful - I know someone who used to "like a drink" - he liked a litre-and-a-half of Scotch per DAY until cirrhosis of the liver made him stop, dead, before he dropped, dead! It can all too easily catch up with you whilst you're not looking!

CAN SOMEONE TELL THOSE PEOPLE AT YAHOO THAT BECAUSE I SOMETIMES USE ALL CAPS TO EMPHASISE SOMETHING, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT I AM SHOUTING AT PEOPLE AND THEREFORE I DO NOT NEED REMINDING THAT I LEFT THE CAPS LOCK KEY ON - AND NEITHER DO I NEED THAT ANNOYING AND CONSTANT "YOU HAVE MISS!.!.!." RUBBISH TO KEEP POPPING UP!. I'M PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF SPELLING IN MY OWN LANGUAGE THANK YOU ! ! !Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should at least drink 1-3 cans a day to stay on the right trackWww@FoodAQ@Com

Seems a bit much, might want to slow down a little!. You wouldn't want you to lose your job because of something preventable eh!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think you need to bak off of the alcoholWww@FoodAQ@Com

to be honest too much of anything is an addictionWww@FoodAQ@Com

8-10 cans!?!! girl you drink like marinesWww@FoodAQ@Com

IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH U MAY HAVE AN ADDICTION!. TALK TO A DR TO GET PUT ON SOME MEDS TO HELP YOU W UR CRAVINGSWww@FoodAQ@Com

Congratulations!!!

You are well on the way to being an old soak!

I'm not anti-drinking!.!.!.!. far from it!.!.!. christ we used to brew our own when i worked in saudi!

However - what u drink does seem excessive- for EVERY night of the week!.
U really need to give urself a good detox and allow your liver to recouperate- if you feel the need to drink especially in a NON-social manner then you are infact an alcoholic!.
Take a full week off the pop - see how much better u feel in yourself!

If you cant - or rather - wont!
Then its safe to say you are indeed going to be like ur mum!
get some help if u cant do it on ur own - a transplant list is one list you deffo dont want to be on!

It seems that you have a very close relationship with alcohol!. More than it's healthy anyway!. I cannot imagine being able to go through 8-10 cans of beer in a night!. Even if you don't get addicted it is bad for your health and I can't imagine it being very pleasant to be seen as an alcoholic!. Simple being perceived as a person with a drinking problem can have serious ramifications on your social life from standing in the way of you and a promotion to losing the custody of your child in a divorce!.

To find out how strongly you crave alcohol try to stay COMPLETELY off it for 6 months to break the habit and when/if you start drinking again make sure it follows the recommended guidelines of 2-3 glasses maximum for 4-5 nights a week!.

Of course if you are actually addicted then it is better to stay away from it altogether!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
