Canadian whiskey drinker thats wants to try scotch!

Question: Canadian whiskey drinker thats wants to try scotch
Hi all, i've been wanting to try scotch now for a while, but im not sure where to begin!. Ive read around the answers area and have some ideas!.

I like Canadian whiskey, i have all the varieties of crown royal out right now, except cask #something!. (Yes even the top dog-graduations present)

What are suggestions for reasonably priced (i assume single malt) scotches to try out!?

Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Scotch is weird!. That being said, it's my favorite thing to drink!. But it's weird!.

I didn't like Scotch at all the first couple of times I tried it!. It took about 2 years to develop an appreciation for it!. So don't feel bad if you don't like it!. It's an expensive hobby!.

My advice is to try a whole bunch of different scotches to get yourself accustomed to the flavor and find out what you like!. Some liquor stores sell miniature bottles of single-malt scotch!. That would be a good way to get your feet wet cheaply!.

I'm going to recommend one scotch, Aberlour 12 year old for three reasons!. Number one, it's $40 a bottle which isn't necessarily cheap but it's incredibly reasonable given the quality of the scotch!. Number two, it tastes good (that's all you need to know)!. Number three, if you don't like it, you can ship the remainder of the bottle to me!.

One final note!. I've always found that Scotch tastes best on a "comfortably" full stomach!. Especially if the meal was savory!. Scotch when you are hungry or stuffed is a drag!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well if you have been drinking Canadian blended whiskey then the easiest step to take would be a good blended Scotch whisky such as Johnnie Walker or Chivas Regal!.

For classic single malt Scotches try The Glenlivet or Glenfiddich or Macallans for a better one!.

Islay malts like Laphroaig are the most different - being very strong flavored and medicinal to some people's minds!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try Glenlivet, if youre feeling more exotic my two favorites are Talisker and Oban, try them neat with just a drop of mineral water!.!.!.!.Delicious!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with Jautomatic!. Good stuff!. !!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
