A few years ago I read an article relating to the Human Genome Project which claimed that a certain gene in the human body (referred to as "the alcoholism gene" in the article) was responsible for producing a lower tolerance to alcohol in certain nationalities of people!. The two groups cited in the article were some Asian nationalities (it did not differentiate between them) and Native Americans (American Indians!.) Popular culture and some literature leads the viewer to believe that alcoholism is more prevalent in Asian culture (although actual experience with this I have none) and I have witnessed this firsthand as far as the case with Indians goes!. Thus, with a lower tolerance, one gets drunk quicker, has less of a resistence to the ill effects of alcohol, etc!. etc!. and this could be why!.
Granted, the article could be typical race-baiting but I believe I read it in a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal so I sort of believe it's legitimacy!. I'll try to find something on it!.

I think that's a bit of a judgment!. It really depends on the weight of the person, whether or not you get drunk after a certain number of drinks!. I've noticed that Asians tend to be very thin, so they can't drink as much as someone who weighs more than them!.!.!.get it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
If i recall correctly, caucasians are the only humans who actually have a well developed tolerance for ethanol!. We probably developed that over the millenia when we were the only heavy drinkers!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
