What happened to Wilsons Brewery!


Question: What happened to Wilsons Brewery
I used to love Wilsons Bitter when I started my drinking career in the north west of England!. I moved away in my late teens and when I came back - gone!. No Wilsons pubs to be found!. Can anyone enlighten me pleaseWww@FoodAQ@Com

the brewery was amalgamated with websters in halifax which sadly closed in the 80's I went on a brewery visit around websters in the late 70's one of 4 I've been round and it was the cleanest most well cared for brewery I've ever seenWww@FoodAQ@Com
The brewery closed in 1987 and the brand ceased in 1998

wasnt it bought out by watneys!?!.!.!.!.i remember a wilson's pub in chorlton, for some reason they started selling watneys red barrel in the early 70's i think!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
