Head out to your local brewing supply house!. Look for root beer extract, follow the directions!. We use to use Hires that we could purchase in grocery stores (long time back)!.
If I remember correctly, it uses the extract, water, sugar, and yeast!. then you bottle or keg it!. If you use bottles, champaign bottles will hold the pressure best!.
