When people pour whisky into a glass, why do they pour small amounts?!
Answers:
Whisky is very potent , and that is why full glasses are never drunk, and that it is usually always mixed with another liquid like coca cola!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
alcohol is a strong chemical, you only need a few "shots" to get messed up!. quality whiskey is to be savored so the extra room in the glass lets the spirit breathe, you can also tell the quality of the spirit by the "legs" it forms when you swirl the spirit in your glass it will cling forming streaks!.-blureyWww@FoodAQ@Com
I would think it's a matter of how you look with a glass that's a quarter full rather than totally full!. Plus, if you're drinking whisky straight, do you need a really full glass!? If you don't drink it all, you'd be pouring your germs back into the bottle!.
Just my opinion, but I think it looks classier to have a neat whisky in a glass where it's barely full, rather than full!. I think the drinker would look like a bit of a lush!.
Hope that helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

A serving size of whiskey is 1!.5oz because of the alcohol percentage!. If you have 1!.5oz of a 40% liquor you're consuming 0!.6oz of actual alcohol!. This is why beer is sold in 12oz containers!. 12of of 5% beer contains 0!.6oz of actual alcohol!. Finally, wine!.!. 5oz of 12% wine is 0!.6oz actual alcohol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The bigger the cup, the slower the alcohol evaporates!. Plus the cup gives you a nice quaff of aroma, when you go to take a sip!.
Plus, it would be kind of awkward, trying to drink out of a little cup!. You want something sturdy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

because whiskey is very very very very strong!. my friend once had a full glass (well the full glass of a whiskey glass) of whiskey and was so drunk she had to get her stomach pumped, and she usually drinks the most and is fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'm with you on this one!. I don't understand the logic of pouring a bit of whisky in a glass - just fill the thing up! As for the answers that say you don't want to get drunk, if that's the case, then don't drink whisky!!

They pour small amounts!.!.!. between 25ml and 35ml, because it's the standard unit that they would get in a bar as a 'shot'!. It's much more manageable to drink smaller quantities of whiskey!. It's quite a hard drink, so people have less of it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Because you don't drink glass fulls of whiskey, usually most people put 1-2 shots in a class and drink it neat, on the rocks or mixed with cola!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
its a for sipppin, not chuggin, this is not the old west anymore
