Tanqueray is a "I'm trendy and know the name of a brand of liquor" gin (see: Absolut, Grey Goose), and Bombay Sapphire is, in my opinion, not really a gin!.
I know several young-ish people who like gin!. It's got flavor, unlike normal vodka, but not too much flavor, unlike the over-flavored fruity vodkas!. Certainly I don't think anyone outside of the UK drinks it as an 'lower-class drink', so people might think you're putting on airs by drinking it, but in that case you should just emphasize you like the subtle juniper flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
