Answers:
Although the above answers can be said to be true now how the lime originally got into corona is because of the rust that would form on the rim of the bottle from the bottle cap!. A lime would be used after opening to clean the rust off the bottle!. This rust use to form more often when bottling standards where lower before it became a large export!. In some latin american countries corona is served over ice with sour mix instead of a fresh lime wedge which I suggest trying!.

It is true that now it is used more for its abilities to cover up "skunk" beer - brown glass although not as visually appealing is the best at blocking light, then green bottles, and of course clear!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Corona is only found in clear bottles!. This is supposed to make the beer look pretty in the store but what it really does is make sure that the beer is skunked!. Skunked beer tastes nasty so people add a lime and salt to cover up the flavor!. Not many people who drink Corona understand that this is the reason why it is done but without something to cover up it's natural flavor, Corona is nigh undrinkable!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

People put lime and salt in their Coronas to make it taste similar to a Margarita, another alcoholic drink that has the taste of lime and has salt sprinkled around the rim of the glass!. Usually served in crystal wine glasses!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It tastes a lot better!. That's my beverage of choice!. Nothing like a chilled corona with lots of lime and salt on a hot summer day!. Your question made me thirsty!. Try it, you'll love it!. I also like it with Tecate!. Yum!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can't say I know anyone that drinks Corona's with salt, but the lime was originally thought of to deter flies from landing on the bottle--citrus is a natural repellant!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To give the watery, mass produced swill some flavor!. Buy Dos Equis Amber, Tecate, or Negra Modelo instead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In Mexico the reaoning was to keep the sand off the bottleWww@FoodAQ@Com
