Is a Malbec wine similar in taste to a Red Zin?!
I enjoy a heavy red zin and was wondering how a malbec compares!. Thanks for your opinions!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nope!. They are very different!. Malbec are much smoother than Zins, which I think have a definite twang to them usually, if that makes sense!.
I DO recommend you try the Malbecs, though, as they are strong, like Zins, and can hold up to fun items like BBQ quite nicely!. Try out Gascon Malbec (decant for 1 hour if you have the time, or "fresh" from the bottle will do)!. Its a good one, and at a price that won't leave you with regrets!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

kind of depends on the type of Red Zin you like!. I really love Zinfandel from the Central Coast region of California!. But I also really like Malbec from Argentina!. Both have this great smoky full fruit taste that goes amazing with bbq food of any kind!.
