Cans are better because they don't allow any light to reach its contents!. The light breaks down the hop oils and does other bad things to the flavor!.
They also are stored more easily because of size and are easier to recycle!. They're more portable and less fragile!. I'm not positive, but there may also be less air in the can than in a bottle which means less oxidation!. I'd also assume that there would be a tighter seal on a can than a bottle, especially a twist-off bottle!.
If there are any more reasons, I'd love to hear them!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you appreciate beer at all you drink it from a glass (when you can) so on that note bottles are cumbersome, not as protective, and may require openers!. The "ZOMG cans taste icky" argument is just stupid, you shouldn't be licking the can as you drink from it anyways!. I'd take a can of craft beer any day over a bottle (Surly Furious FTW)!. Even if cans were clear I'd still take them over bottles simply due to the ease of recycling and transporting cans!. Then again I'm a bit of an active drinker!.
As a homebrewer and general beer nerd bottles do have a small advantage though and that's extended storage!. Cans will eventually lose to time where bottles won't!. I'll personally take my big beers in properly corked wine bottles so that I can age them should I choose to do so!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

light can't damage the beer unlike glass!. But in my opinion can beer tastes awful, and if you keep your beer in the box and in the fridge you shouldn't have to worry about it going skunk!.
ADDED - To answer 3 - Glass holds its temperature better keep beer colder longer and glass is recyclable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cans completely prevent light from getting to the beer and turning it skunky!. Plus they're lighter, chill faster, and you can take them places that don't allow bottles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
beer may last longer in a can but I'll take a bottle any day!. can beer tastes like licking the inside of the can to me!. ultimately if you can find a pub that keeps their lines clean I'll take draft over both!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Cans are better, but very little good beer comes in a can!. I generally stick with bottles for that very simple reason!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Beer gets colder faster in cans and the cans are recyclable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
