How do i do this right?!

Question: How do i do this right!?
i am trying to make alcohol!. i used a simple method of sugar and yeast!. i asked a slightly diferent question before and someone named Andrew said this " if you truly kept everything air tight, there will be minimal alcohol production!. Yeast does not need oxygen to grow, but as more and more CO2 is produced through fermentation the CO2, if it has now where to go because the container is air tight, will begin to saturate the liquid and essentially suffocate the yeast!. also, if you sugar content was too high you will find that the yeast would not be able to grow and again you would have no alcohol production!." i want to know how to do it like that so if anyone has done this or knows how i should do it please tell me!. i have tried puting it in a milk carton with a balloon and i have tried gust an air tight water botle and im kind of sure it didnt work!. if you know how to see if it works then tell me!. i tried lighting alcohol on fire and it didnt work so mabye i lite it wrong somehow otherwise i dont think alcohol litesWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Sugar, water, and yeast will ferment!.

It helps if you boil the sugar and water together!. This will make a simple syrup!. I don't know what ratios work well, I'd probably try 2 parts water, 1 part sugar first!. It will dissolve, if it doesn't look like it will!.

The yeast should be added to a small bowl of warm water to bloom!. Like if you were making bread!. Now, once the sugar water mixture has come down to a little above room temperature (80-90F), you can add the yeast to the sugar water, then move everything to a plastic bottle (2 liter should work)!.

Instead of using a bottle cap, try a balloon that you have made a hole in with a pin!. As the balloon expands, the pin hole will obviously get bigger and let out some of the CO2!. When the balloon starts to deflate, it means your fermentation is done!. All that's left is to carefully pour off the liquid while trying to leave the yeast at the bottom of the bottle!. It's ok if you can't get all of the liquid, it will be better if there's no yeast in it!. You can experiment with some type of coffee filters or cheesecloths to strain the liquid through to get less yeast!.

Now, the resulting liquid should be alcoholic!. It will be under 10% ABV!. You can only light alcohol on fire if its 50% ABV!. Clearly, the flame test won't work!. No!.!.!. you'll probably have to drink some to figure this one out!. If it doesn't taste sweet, then it's alcoholic!. Actually, if you taste the sugar water before you put the yeast in, compare it that!. The final product may still be somewhat sweet, but as long as its much less sweet than where you started, it is alcoholic!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You probably used bakers' yeast!. That gives you maximum carbon dioxide production and minimum alcohol!. Try champagne yeast!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

u need to use a big flame you can't just throw in a matchWww@FoodAQ@Com
