The taste of cigarettes?!

As a non smoker I'm curious why smokers are brand loyal!. Don't all cigarettes of equal strength taste more or less the same!? also, would there be any difference in taste between the same brands but from different countries of origin!?

I'm an ex-smoker!.!.!.!.just like pop or beer, cigarettes are different!.
some may compare a bit, like Pepsi and Coke but still are different!.

Brands do have different tastes!. For me it was the enjoyment of smoking while drinking!. The drawback was the aftertaste the next morning!. Quite disgusting!.

Each brand does have it's own individual taste and some are 'smoother' than others
