Foul smelling water bottle?!

Question: Foul smelling water bottle!?
I had some old water bottles left in my room for a while, maybe a month or two, and when i opened them to take a drink, this really nasty smell came out of them!. I didn't think water, especially bottled water, had an expiration date!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The bacteria from your mouth (from the last time you drank from it) has grown and spread throughout the bottle!. That is the foul odor!. Do not drink it!. The bacteria can be from stuff you had previously eaten or something, even if you think you didn't backwash!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You know if you're in the woods, you aren't supposed to drink from a still pond!? The water is stagnant and has germs and bacteria in it!. The water in your room wasn't sealed (hencec the 'old water bottles') so it's more or less the same thing!. Especially if it was tap water and there was sun in your room!.

If you wash your water bottles out (or recylce them if they're that kind) use hot water and dish soap and it will be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

water can expire after a year or two after purchase!. But if it was hardly opened, bacteria can easily come on in!. Never drink anything that you may not know what it is or how long ago its been somewhere!. I have a great day!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

My guess is that you had opened them before and drank from them (mouth to opening)!. Bacteria from your mouth built up on the rim and!.!.!. el stinko!.

Expired water (yes, it exists) will not stink!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, they get old and stale just like anything else!. You should throw them out just to be safe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

why would you drink them!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

it keeps better in the darkWww@FoodAQ@Com
