How do you drink your whisky?!
By whisky I mean any type (bourbon, scotch ect) and also what mixers you have with it and why!. also can you say how old you are, I'm 14!. I have single malt whisky and have it neat, I find that adding water or ice takes away some of the flavour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Single malt at 14!? Your dad must have good taste!. Purist drink them straight up (no ice, no mixer)!. I usually drink them with ice, but would never mix a single malt with anything else; it would be sacrilegious considering how much they cost!. Yes, ice does take away from the flavour, but, especially in the beginning, it smoothes the flavour out!. Then later, yes, the ice gets in the way and I usually use less ice as the party continues!.
Single malts are the best except Glennfidich and Tamoratin and others <$35 which I don't care for, except I get Glenlivet 12 yold for $22 at Costco, what a deal!. My fav for the price of $35 Glenmorangie 12 years old but handmade from 16 men from Tain, Scotland, and tastes like a 16 yold!. Then $45 Lagavulin, 16 yold (tastes like licking the back of a fireplace)!. My fav >$45 is Oban very smooth discreetly introducted to ice like an orchid to the moonlight!.
After watching Saturday Night Fever, and being in my teens in the 70s, I'm back to drinking 7 and 7 like in the movie!. Seagrams 7 and 7up: it's too sweet and its cheap whiskey from a plastic bottle, but it reminds me of youth and my high school sweetheart!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For single highland malt I prefer neat, but a tiny splash of water really opens up a Islay!. As for bourbon It depends on the quality, for something like Elijah Craig, Makers Mark Woodford Reserve etc, i like it with one ice cube, for something of lesser quality like Jim Beam, I like it 1/2 & 1/2 with coke, 7up or ginger ale!. Irish whiskey such & Bushmills, Jameson, etc!. I either like it straight or served in coffee with Irish cream!. I am 35!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Adding a little water to a single malt will actually open the bouquet of the whisky, since it will dilute the alcohol which can often overpower any subtleties!.
