What you are doing when you drink alcohol is basically poisoning yourself on a small scale!. Your liver can only process a fixed amount of alcohol per hour, so if you drink more than that amount, the result is intoxication!. This means that there is alcohol in the bloodstream (when there normally is not) which causes different systems in the body (such as the nervous system) to react in ways other than normal!.
