Is wine very fattening?!

Question: Is wine very fattening!?
I've never been a drinker, but here lately I've been drinking 2-5 glasses of wine a weekend and have gained weight!. But, I'm also on an anti-depressant (have been for over 5 months), so I'm not sure which one is making me gain weight!. As far as alcohol goes, is wine fattening!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Drinking just one glass of wine a day without increasing your exercise will cause you to gain roughly 12-15 pounds a year!.

Your average glass of wine at 5oz contains 125 calories and 4g of carbs!. If you don't do something to increase the calories you burn per day just like with any other food you'll gain weight!.

I drink 1 to 2 craft beers a day and by doing a few simple things like taking stairs instead of elevators or walking to the corner store instead of driving!.!.!.I've been able to maintain the the same weight for almost 3 years now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depending on which one you usually drink!.!. red wine is better for you than white wine!. Red wine has antioxidants, and if you drink (one) glass with your meals it actually helps with your metabolism!. I'm sure you've probably heard, people in France of all ages drink wine with their meals!. I've never been to France, so I cannot say from experience!.

Wine is alcohol, so yes!. 9calories/gram for fat, 7 for alcohol, and 4 for carbs and protein!. And it's dangerous to mix alcohol w/ medication!. I've heard of people comitting suicide because of the side effects!. Check w/ your doctor or pharmacist about spacing them out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think so!. But it may make you eat a bit more than you normally would!. BTW mixing antidepressants with depressants is not a wise thing!. Alcohol is a depressant!. You will be defeating the purpose of the antidepressant by adding wine to the mix!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
