Society doesn't gain a whole lot by anyone drinking, so there aren't many "pros" to lowering the drinking age unless you're between 18 and 21, or your job is to sell alcohol!. I'm not saying drinking is bad- just that for whatever major or minor problems it may cause however frequently or infrequently, it doesn't solve so many!.
To me the argument isn't necessarily just whether the drinking age should be 18 for its own sake, but how that law would measure up to other similar laws!. I mean, The age to buy cigarettes, vote, and enlist in the military is 18!.
Whenever I think of that I say to myself: if we're setting an arbitrary age for it, it may as well 18 because smoking and fighting in wars seem (to me) at least some degree more volatile, and requiring more mature decisions, than drinking alcohol!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

There *will* be increased underage drinking, accompanied by an unavoidable rise in drunk driving and resultant deaths!. We will gain increased freedom at the expense of increased hazard!. The two phenomena are inseparable!.

Absolutely!. I am 38 and it is a shame that this occupies so much of our court system!. A bit of sarcasm, but yeah every 18 year old would almost kill themselves with alcohol poisioning but once they get through a couple of weekends the allure will be over and we can get over it!. However, along with that a solution to drinking and driving should be orchestrated with a vengence!. The DUI can ruin your life!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
When i was 18 you could buy beer!. I think maybe Beer and wine could go to 18!. I think if it did it might be less of a temptation to do other illegal substances!. Cons- You know youth always gonna over do it!. Maybe at 18 your parents or legal guardians could supervise it more!. It just might keep alot of people from binge drinking as it would be available more often instead of loading up on occasion!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
