I had two glasses of port wine last night at the movie theater?!

Question: I had two glasses of port wine last night at the movie theater!?
I had never had it before and don't know much about it, but I thought I'd try it!. It was very good, but by the time I stood up to leave, I realized that I was very tipsy! Normally, two glasses of wine do nothing to me!. What is the typical alcohol content of port!? The kind I had was Messina Hoff Ebony of Ports!. It's a Texas winery!. Not sure if that makes any difference, but I thought I'd throw that in!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I live near that winery!.

Port Wine has a higher alcohol content that regular wine!. This is caused by the addition of distilled grape spirits to fortify the wine and halt fermentation before all the sugar is converted to alcohol!.
Port wine has an average alcohol content of about 18%, while regular wine on the average has about 13%!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Port wines are called Dessert wines, very sweet and flavorful!. Their alcohol content is much higher than regular wine, about 15-20% alcohol versus 10-15% regular wine!. There are many labels around, but they are all come in a 1/2 small bottle!. Typical identified as Port Wine!.
If you like Port Wines, you may also try Riesling wines ( it is a type of wine) also sweet, but not as much as PortWww@FoodAQ@Com

Port wine contains more alcohol then normal wine does!. for more details you can check here about it and see why is it so special about it
