21, What should I drink, besides beer?!

Question: 21, What should I drink, besides beer!?
I just turned 21 a few months ago and have only drank beer!. I've tried several types of beer, but they all don't appeal to me!. Beer doesn't taste bad, but it doesn't taste good to me!. I am interested in drinks like the Smirnoff Pomegranate martini though!. I've never tried it, but I can imagine that it tastes pretty good!.

So, I was wondering what it tastes like and any suggestions on other alcoholic drinks I should try!. No mixed drinks yet!. I don't want to buy a bunch of bottles that I end up not liking!.

Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It depends on what you like to drink!. Like as far as how strong you like your drinks!. I would try mixed drinks!. Try all kinds!. You have to experiment!. The fruity kind are the best!. If you want to drink at home, Smirnoff Ice is good because is tastes like nothing (tastes like soda)!. Or you could buy Smirnoff or other Vodka and mix it with your favorite fruit drink!. It tastes really good mixed with Orange juice!. also there's Wildberry Jack!. Which is like Jack Daniels but not as harsh, they are like wine coolers!. Any type of Wine cooler you'll probably like!. They have Smirnoff ice packs that have several flavors in one, so you don't have to worry about buying a whole pack of something you don't like!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, I agree that you should drink what tastes best for you!.!.!.after all you should like and enjoy what you drink!.
However, you should not drink just for the sake of drinking!.
You may have to experiment with different drinks to determine what you like or would prefer!. I mean like Brandy based, Vodka based, Gin based, Scotch Whiskey based drinks etc!. You don't have to buy the bottles, just order a drink at your favourite restaurant or hang out spot!.

Vodka!.!. mix it with any non alcoholic drink you like!.!.

Bacardi!.!. with coke!.!.

Jagermiester!.!.!. And red bull!.!. Pretty much called a Jager bomb!.!. You put the jager in a shot glass, and put some redbull in a glass, 1/4 of the glass of redbull should be fine!.!. And then you drop the shot glass in the redbull, and skull it!.!. You must drop the actual shot glass in the redbull though, and while you're skulling, it might hit you in the nose!.

Smirnoff ice is a mixed drink, that you can buy in bottles in a 4 pack, or in cans in a 6 pack!.!.

Oh and smirnoff double black, which is also a mixed drink!.!. 4 bottles is enough to get you drunk!.!. It tastes like sprite!.!.!.but with an alcoholic part to it!.

Bourbon and coke!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on the weather and the situation, I like a gin and tonic if it's hot, martinis maybe before a full dinner, rum and coke on the holidays, maybe a Bloody Mary on Sunday!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Iced Tea, water, Juice, lemonade!. Your not suppose to automatically drink alcohol just because you turned 21!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can go your local liquor shop which sells small bottles of hard liquor which is about 50ml(one shot) choose absolute vodka or smirnoff(red or blue) and shoot it!.

The assumption that I am making is that you are on the western side of the Atlantic, as other than fringe religious types, no one in Europe would wait until they were of legal age to imbibe!.
The simplest process to determine what you like without investing in bottles of stuff you may not like is to go to a bar and have a couple of drinks, vary it each time you go out until you find what you like!. Don't do too much each time because the after effects may slew your judgement!.

General Rules though, don't mix cognac or malt whiskey!. If you want to try a scotch or brandy and Ginger ale (or cola or lemonade etc!.) use a generic blend or brandy as the flavour of the mixer will drown the complex flavours of the expensive stuff!. If you cannot take undiluted spirit a little water may actually help the flavour of malt whiskey!.

Vodka has no real flavour of its own so does have to be mixed, but quality vodka can be drunk as shots provided it is ice cold!.

Tequila is very tasty, and can be drunk neat, or mixed as a number of cocktails for every taste, but the range of quality (and cost) is huge!. (A topic in its own right)

Wine is good, and red wine actually good for you but again quality costs and in the U!.K!. at least higher quality wines are very expensive!.

Enjoy finding out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well that depends on what you are into!. mixed drinks, wine, or shots!. I perfer shots!. And this also depends on how drunk you want to get :]!. My favorite shot is rumpleminze!. I also like Yukon Jack, its 100 proof but doesnt burn going down!. For mixed drinks I like fuzzy navels ( i know, girly) and the skinny girl margarita!. its amazing!. and the god of all liquors is patron!. its a clear tequila!. It is quite expensive though, but a nice once in a while treat!. And as for wine, I would suggest a sweet blush wine for first timers!.

Skinny girl margarita recipe:
3 parts patron
1 part lime juice
1 part triple sec

mixed drinks are definalty the way to go because you get the best of both worlds, good taste and drunkeness :]

or you could be dangerous and try a flaming docter pepper!. its beer with a shot of ameretto with 151!. it tastes just like docter pepper!. you light the shot, drop it in, and consume!. but please dont try it at home!.

or the ever awesome jello shots!. strong but go down easy!. :]Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you like sweet tea, they have a Twisted Tea that is a malt beverage

or they still actually make Zima which is another malt beverage, they have it in Tangerine and Citrus

They have Hard Creamers which is a thick , milky malt beverage!. If you like SWEET , you would like them!. One is Orange Cream and a Strawberry Daquiri!. I have had 1 and that is all I could handle because they are very sweet!.

They also have another malt beverage "Peels" it has 100% fruit juice in it !.!.They have a strawberry passion, blueberry pomegranate(My Fave) and a Pear one!. They are really good and don't have much alcohol taste to them at all!

Or they have the Jack Daniels wine coolers which aren't bad!
The Mike's Hard Lemonade wine coolers that are also good!

And of course the million more wine coolers on the market if you are into wine coolers!

Have you ever tried a margarita!? They are YUMMY and they have schnapps that is my FAVORITE called "Cactus Juice" a little of that on the rocks or A LOT on the rocks is very good! It is just a margarita schnapps!

But, if these are too sweet for you and you want a different flavor of beer!.

Try Michelob Ultra Beer! It is VERY mild and they have a Cactus Lime flavor, A Pomegranate flavor and a grapefruit one!. They are pretty good and different for a change!

Good Luck!

Frozen margaritas are refreshing on a hot day!. I prefer to skip the salted rim, but you may like it!.
Tequila shots with a bit of salt and lime!.
Scotch and soda, or just single-malt scotch, neat ("neat" means without ice)!.
Red wine - Start with pinot noir, merlot, cabernet sauvignon or sangiovese!. Experiment with others as you develop your palate!.
Martini, vodka martini, and cosmopolitan - all tasty variations of an old favorite!.
White russian - vodka-based, with Kahlua and milk or cream!.
Long Island Iced Tea!.
AVOID white and blush wines!. They're gaggingly sweet!.
Don't mix different kinds of alcohol if you're planning to drink a lot - you'll get sick, and it tends to make for nastier hangovers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
