Get the can, pop the top and turn it upsaidedown in a pint glass!. The thingy inside prevents the guinness from foaming all over the place since it is 'carbonated' per se by nitrogen!. It won't spill all over the place I promise!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have found that with the Guinness Draught nitro can, there isn't really any way you can screw up pouring it!. I usually just crack it open and pour it where the can is inverted about 45 degrees and the pint glass is also at an angle!. As you bring the can up to a vertical, you tilt the glass back upright!.
The thing inside the can is a "widget"!. It contains pressurized nitrogen so that when you depressurize the can, nitrogen flows out into the beer, which is what gives it the very creamy head!. Notice that the head from a Guinness Draught contains smaller bubbles than if you poured out a bottle of, say a Budweiser, a pilsener, or most other beers!. This is because nitrogen causes smaller bubbles to form, as opposed to what is normally in beer, carbon dioxide, which forms larger bubbles!.
The technique for pouring a nitro can of Guinness is pretty difficult to screw up!. For other beers, like Belgian Dubbels, Tripels, Quads, and Saisons, there is a very specific way to pour and there is also selected glassware you should use for them too!.
